On October 5, 2011, BoomBox launched Color Outside the Lines – a six-week creative arts program partnering BoomBox employees with 13 students from Public School 11.
Color Outside the Lines was designed to inspire the imaginations of local fourth and fifth graders and show that creativity can be more than a hobby. It can be a lifelong pursuit.
Over the course of the program each student will be creating his or her own country side-by-side with team members from BoomBox. Far from being tasked with a simple coloring exercise, students will be encouraged to imagine a full, rich culture and history for their countries. This program will also challenge the children to consider the wide variety of skills needed to make their countries unique, including graphic design, storytelling and even architecture.
We will be sharing the ongoing progress of our students, so check back soon to see our latest developments.
